1. Posthog Analytics

• Basic usage metrics to help us improve the application
• Anonymous session information
• Feature usage patterns
• You can opt out of Posthog analytics at any time in the settings for full data control

2. Sentry Error Reporting

• Application errors and crash reports
• Basic device information when errors occur
• Technical diagnostics to help us fix issues
• No personal content is ever included in error reports
• You can opt out of Sentry error reporting at any time in the settings

Important: Your recordings, transcripts, notes, and content are processed entirely locally and never sent to our servers. For complete data privacy, you can disable all telemetry in the settings.

🚀 How Hyprnote Works

1. Completely Local Processing

• Your content (recordings, transcripts, notes) stays on your device
• All AI processing happens locally on your machine
• We have no servers that receive, store, or process your content
• Your data never leaves your device

2. Experimental Cloud-Based Models (Optional)

• We now offer an experimental feature where you can switch from local AI models to cloud-based proprietary models
• When using cloud-based models, we do not collect any personal data or content
• We only collect usage data (number of API calls made) and cost data (amount spent)
• You can switch back to local-only processing at any time
• This feature is entirely optional and disabled by default

3. Download and Use

• Simply download the DMG file from Crab Nebula
• Install and use Hyprnote with minimal setup
• Enjoy privacy-focused recording and transcription

🔒 Keeping It Safe

• Local-Only Content: Your recordings and transcripts stay on your device
• Minimal Analytics: Only basic usage data through Posthog and error reporting through Sentry
• Full Data Control: You can opt out of all telemetry in the settings
• No Content Transmission: Your recordings and transcripts are never sent anywhere

👀 Your Data, Your Control

You have complete control over your content:

• Your recordings stay on your device
• Your transcripts stay on your device
• Your notes stay on your device
• Your summaries stay on your device

Even when using the experimental cloud-based models:

• We never collect, store, or analyze your personal content
• Only anonymous usage metrics and cost data are collected
• You can switch back to fully local processing at any time

You also control analytics:

• Opt out of all telemetry in settings for full data control
• Disable Posthog analytics individually
• Disable Sentry error reporting individually
• No account required to use the application

🚸 Children Under 13

Hyprnote isn't designed for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.

🌐 International Use

Since we only collect minimal analytics data and no content data, international data transfer concerns are minimal. Our analytics providers comply with international data protection standards.

We might occasionally update this Privacy Policy. If the changes are significant, we'll notify you in the app. The "Last Updated" date at the top helps you keep track.
